Saint Joseph - Hessen Cassel

Fort Wayne, Indiana

St. Joseph School, Hessen Cassel offers athletic programs in the following areas: volleyball, football, basketball, and soccer. These activities are open to all students in grades 5-8, with exceptions being made for 4th graders.  Students are encouraged to participate in our athletic programs in order to further their physical education, team-building skills, and sportsmanship skills. Parents are encouraged to get involved in these programs by becoming a head coach or an assistant coach for one of these teams. Those interested in playing or coaching should contact the school office for more information.

The athletic handbook contains the policies and procedures for St. Joseph Hessen Cassel’s athletic programs. All student-athletes, parents, and coaches must read this handbook noting especially eligibility requirements and student, parent, and coaches’ responsibilities. Students must read and sign the contract at the back of the handbook and turn it into their coach before they will be allowed to participate in games.

If you have any questions please contact our Athletic Director, Kris Haynes, at 260-705-4765.

Physical Form:

Important note about the new IHSAA physical form

Please note that the new IHSAA physical form, available here, instructs physicians on page 4 to ask student-athletes if they use condoms. We are not allowed to change anything on the previous pages, but we did receive permission from the IHSAA to edit this section to remove the offensive question. Please use the slightly edited version available here. Thank you to Mark Kirzeder for his assistance with this.
