Junior high religion classes are started each day with a prayer. The students take turns being the prayer leader. Every day before the prayer students will offer up their own petitions. The most common petitions are for an end to abortion, healing for the sick, comfort for the homeless, continued blessings on our school/parish, and the safety of our troops.
Throughout the school year students will develop an understanding of the Catholic Church in the following areas:
1. Catholic faith
2. Old and New Testament
3. Liturgy and sacraments
4. Prayer
5. Promoting a missionary spirit
6. Morality
7. Church
8. Confirmation
Friday mornings, we spend 25 minutes worshiping the Blessed Sacrament during Eucharistic adoration. There is a student led rosary or Chaplet of Divine Mercy said at this time. The students of St. Joseph School really enjoy spending time with the Blessed Sacrament. It is a great way to end their busy school week.
